Re-parsing Resume in Recruit CRM

Learn how to use the Re-parse Resume feature to update existing candidate profiles with newly parsed resume information.

Written by Dia Shukla

You can now use the Re-parse Resume option directly from the Candidate Details page to update candidate information using the newly parsed resume.

🚀 How to Re-parse a Resume

The Re-parse Resume option is available in two places:

  • From the default Resume field on the candidate profile

  • From the three-dot action menu

You can either upload a new resume from their system or select an existing resume from the candidate’s Files section.

Once selected, the resume is parsed again, and the newly extracted information is compared with the candidate’s current profile details before any updates are applied.

🔍 Reviewing Parsed Information Before Updating

Before applying updates, a comparison screen shows the Field Name, New Value, and Current Value side-by-side, allowing you to review and choose which fields should be updated.

Updating Candidate Information

You can choose how the candidate information should be updated by selecting either the 'Update Empty Field Values' option or the 'Override Selected Field Values' option:

  • When the 'Update Empty Field Values' option is selected, the system will only fill fields that are currently empty in the candidate profile, while keeping the existing information unchanged.

  • When the 'Override Selected Field Values' option is selected, the system will replace the existing candidate information with the newly parsed values for the fields you select. This gives you more control over which existing details should be updated from the latest resume.

Note: Bulk resume re-parsing and bulk candidate updates are currently not supported.

The comparison view currently supports only the default candidate fields available in the resume parser.

🔁 Managing Duplicate Candidates During Bulk Resume Parsing

When parsing resumes in bulk, if duplicate candidates are detected, they are clearly marked with a “Duplicate” tag so you can easily identify them before proceeding.

Each duplicate candidate also includes an “Update Values” option, allowing you to review the existing candidate profile alongside the newly parsed resume information before applying any changes.

If multiple duplicate candidates are found, you can navigate through them one by one using the duplicate counter. You can choose to skip a duplicate or update selected field values and move to the next duplicate. For the final duplicate candidate, the option changes to Override Selected Field Values.

Please Note:

  • In the comparison screen, fields where changes are detected are automatically selected by default. You can review these selections and choose which fields should or should not be updated before saving the changes.

  • Empty fields, Work History, and Education History are not shown as separate highlighted changes during duplicate review, as they are updated automatically before the comparison screen opens.

🛠 Troubleshooting

Why are some fields already updated before I review the changes?

In the Global Resume Parser flow, empty fields, Work History, and Education History may be updated automatically before the review step. These changes are saved before reviewing the remaining fields.

I cannot see the Re-parse Resume option

Make sure you are viewing the candidate’s profile page. The option is available from the default Resume field or the three-dot action menu.

FAQs

Fields with identical values remain unselected, as there is no new information to update.

No. The comparison view currently supports only the default candidate fields available through the resume parser.
