You can obtain consent from your candidates/contacts for texting and allow them to opt out whenever they request it.
Gain consent through outbound SMS
You can send SMS to candidates/contacts without requiring them to opt-in and can directly ask for opt-in through messages.
You can also check in the details page if they have not given consent, next to meetings:
In this scenario, it is necessary for you to include additional information on how to opt out of receiving SMS messages.
The initial message that you send to take consent needs to include the following OPT IN and OPT OUT keywords:
OPT-IN keywords: 'START' or 'YES' or 'SUBSCRIBE', or 'JOIN'.
OPT-OUT keywords: 'STOP' or 'STOPALL' or 'UNSUBSCRIBE' or 'CANCEL' or 'END' or 'QUIT'.
Once the text receiver replies with STOP or similar opt-out messages, Twilio blocks them from their end:

Opt-in through email
You can also request opt-in through email from prospects by sending bulk emails.
Obtain consent through external pages
Recruit CRM also lets you obtain texting consent from prospects from different sections including the job application form, talent pool page, and profile update request form.
There is an optional checkbox where candidates can subscribe to receive SMS updates about specific job opportunities.
If the candidates have already given their consent, it simply updates on the candidate details page.
This is how the consent checkbox appears at the bottom of external pages:

1. Go to Admin Settings > Job Application Form Settings / Talent Pool Page Settings / Profile Update Form Settings
2. Scroll down to locate: "Customize Button & Link Labels", and look for the label "I'd like to receive SMS notifications about jobs at the provided phone number," which you can edit and choose to activate or hide.
On the Job Application Form Settings, you can also edit the SMS Terms that your applicants can read before offering their consent.
