What this feature does and when to use it?
Contact Stages help you track where each contact is in your sales pipeline. You can customize these stages to match your business process, set a default stage for new contacts, and use them to organize and filter contacts more efficiently.
This feature is useful when you want to:
Create custom contact stages for your sales process.
Set a default contact stage for new contacts.
Update a contact's stage as they progress through your pipeline.
Filter contacts based on their current stage.
Customize and use Contact Stages
Please note: Only Account Owners, Admins, and users with permission to the Contact Stages section in Admin Settings can create or customize Contact Stages.
To customize your Contact Stages:
Navigate to Admin Settings, under CRM Process Customization, click Contact Stages.
Click the Pencil icon to edit your contact stages.
To create a new stage, scroll down and click Add Stage.
Enter the stage name. If you'd like it to be the default stage for newly created contacts, select the Default checkbox. You can also drag and reorder existing stages to match your preferred workflow.
Click Save to apply your changes.
To delete a contact stage, click the – (minus) icon next to the stage you want to remove.
📌 Please note: Once a contact stage is deleted, any contacts currently assigned to that stage will have their Contact Stage set to Empty. This action cannot be undone.
Once your Contact Stages are configured, you can update a contact's stage directly from the Contact List by selecting the appropriate stage from the Stage dropdown.
You can also use Advanced Search to filter contacts based on their current Contact Stage.
Troubleshooting
Problem: I can't edit or create Contact Stages.
Problem: I can't edit or create Contact Stages.
Likely Cause: You don't have the right set of permissions.
What to Check: Verify that you're logged in as an Account Owner, Admin, or on a custom role with permission to access Contact Stages section in Admin Settings.
Resolution: Only Account Owner and Admin users can create, edit, reorder, or delete Contact Stages. Contact your Account Owner or Admin if you need assistance.
