How Radius-Search Works in Recruit CRM? (New UI)

Search for candidates within a specific area/location using the Radius Search.

Written by Likhitha Satya Maansi Rudra

What this feature does & when to use it?

Radius search in Recruit CRM allows you to find candidates, contacts, companies, or jobs within the radius range you choose. The Radius Search feature in Recruit CRM is powered by Google Maps which works well if you have a candidate/contact's address available inside the "Full Address" field of candidate/contact.

The Radius Search relies on accurate geocoding based on the "Full Address" field, which maps records to precise geographical locations.

Use this feature when you want to:

  • Find nearby candidates or contacts

  • Shortlist local talent for specific roles

  • Target companies or jobs within a travel radius

How is location data used in radius search?

Radius search works using a process called Geocoding. Geocoding converts location information into geographic coordinates. Recruit CRM uses these coordinates to calculate distance and return records that fall within the selected radius.

✅ How to enable radius search on your account?

1. Open Radius Search Settings in Admin Settings

Only Account Owners, Admins, and users with custom permissions can enable radius search.

  • Navigate to the Admin Settings in Recruit CRM and go to the Account section.

  • Scroll down until you see the Radius Search settings.

  • Enable the toggle for each record type where you want to perform radius searches.

Important note:

  • Simply adding a full address via CSV import does not automatically enable radius search.

  • Radius search works only when the toggle is turned on for that specific record type, allowing the system to process the address via geocoding and convert it into usable coordinates that can be used for searches.

2. Ensure the Full Address Field Is Visible in the List View

  • Open the relevant list (e.g., Candidates).

  • Click the Show/Hide Column icon to manage visible columns.

  • In the column selection panel, tick the Full Address field so it appears in your list.

3. Apply Filter

  • Go to the Candidates entity.

  • Click on the Add Filters button.

  • In the Full Address field > Radius Search, start typing the location you want (e.g., “Central Park”). You will see suggestions as you type. Choose the desired radius (e.g., 10 km).

  • You can also choose to add other filters along with the radius search.

5. Save the Search

Click on Apply filters, and your results will be displayed on the same screen. Also, you can save this combination of filters if you happen to use this often, by clicking on "Apply Filters & Save Search".

P.S. If you are importing a bunch of records in bulk and want to be able to run a radius search on them, please give us a heads-up, and we will help you with the process.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Radius search returns no results even though records have addresses.

  • Likely cause: Radius search is not enabled for that record type.

  • What to check: In Admin Settings > Account > Radius Search, confirm the toggle is switched on for the relevant entity (Candidates, Contacts, Companies, Jobs).

  • Resolution path: Turn on the toggle for the required record type and allow the system to process the addresses via geocoding before re-running the search.

Problem: Some records are missing from the radius search results.

  • Likely cause: The Full Address field is empty or incomplete for those records.

  • What to check: Verify the Full Address field is filled and correctly formatted for the missing records.

  • Resolution path: Update or correct the Full Address values, save the records, and run the radius search again.

Conclusion

Radius search in Recruit CRM helps you quickly find records within a set distance using Full Address data. Once enabled and configured, you can run precise location-based searches and save them for reuse.
