The SEO Settings panel contains the following fields:
1. Route (URL Path)
The Route determines the page URL and forms part of the link visitors use to access the page.
Example:
Website URL: https://yourcompany.com
Route: about-us
Final URL: https://yourcompany.com/about-us
A clear and descriptive route helps both users and search engines understand what the page is about.
Best practices:
• Use descriptive words
• Keep URLs short and readable
• Use lowercase letters
• Separate words with hyphens
📌 Important:
• Duplicate page URLs are not allowed
• Routes only support lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
2. Page Title
The Page Title is the main title associated with the page. It appears in browser tabs and is commonly used as the clickable headline in search engine results.
A good page title helps search engines understand the page content and helps users decide whether to visit the page.
Example: Recruitment Jobs in London | ABC Recruitment
Best practices:
• Clearly describe the page
• Include relevant keywords
• Keep it concise and easy to understand
3. Page Description
The Page Description provides a short summary of the page content. Search engines often display this text below the page title in search results.
A well-written description gives visitors a preview of what they can expect on the page and can encourage more clicks.
Example: Explore the latest recruitment and staffing opportunities in London. Apply directly through ABC Recruitment.
Best practices:
• Summarize the page clearly
• Include relevant keywords naturally
• Encourage users to click
4. Metadata
Metadata provides additional information about the page that helps search engines better understand and categorize its content.
While metadata is not always directly visible to visitors, it can improve how search engines interpret and index your pages.
Use metadata to provide additional context about the page and its purpose.
5. Thumbnail Image
The Thumbnail Image is used when the page is shared on social platforms or appears in supported link previews. A relevant thumbnail helps create a more professional appearance and can increase engagement when the page is shared.
Examples:
• LinkedIn posts
• Facebook shares
• Messaging apps
Use a high-quality image that represents the page content and aligns with your branding.
